ABSTRACT
The sleep disorders and poor sleep quality cause various daytime function impairment like fatigue, attention impairment, irritability,
energy reduction, and daytime sleepiness. However, systemically studies on the sleep quality in patient with dizziness still remain,
relatively. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether the quality of sleep is related to dizziness. We investigated 138
patients who had presented dizziness. Men or woman were from 18 to 60 years old who had no symptoms or signs of major medical,
psychiatric, and neurological disorders so that they completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Insomnia Severity
Index (ISI), the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). All mean score of
scale is high: PSQI, 7.45±4.23; FSS, 39.82±14.17; ISI, 9.02±7.05; BDI, 14.09±10.12; ESS, 9.06±4.75. This study is preliminary study
did not analysis comparing control group yet but these findings predict poor quality of sleep, fatigue, daytime sleepiness, and depression
in dizziness patient. We anticipate the dizziness patients might have poor sleep quality and underlying sleep disorders that
were overlooked so far. The analysis by comparing normal control should be needed in the future.
